Who is this procedure intended for?

Both women and men undergo laser liposuction at our clinic. It is suitable for larger problem areas such as the abdomen, thighs, calves, or hips. However, it can also be used for precise contouring of smaller areas of the body—such as the arms, knees, or double chin.

What the procedure and subsequent recovery involve

Following an initial consultation with our specialist, we perform blood tests when indicated to rule out any potential health complications. You will then schedule the procedure with the doctor.

We perform the procedure under local anesthesia using a tumescent solution, which contains a diluted anesthetic and epinephrine. Once the solution takes effect, it numbs the entire area being treated, and the subsequent liposuction is completely painless. The procedure takes 2–3 hours, depending on the size of the area being treated.

You will be fully awake during the procedure, and immediately afterward you will go home wearing compression garments, which we recommend you keep on for the next 24 hours. Two to three days after the surgery, an orange-colored fluid will ooze from the small incisions; this is simply residual tumescent solution, and it is perfectly normal.

For about 1–2 weeks after the procedure, you should only take showers and wear compression garments regularly for 2–6 weeks. You can return to your normal routine in 2 weeks, and resume sports activities after another month. We recommend being careful about sun exposure, as skin that has been treated is more prone to pigmentation. Therefore, be sure to avoid sunbathing and tanning beds for several weeks after liposuction.
