About the procedure

In the Lip Flip procedure, a small dose of botulinum toxin is injected above the upper lip into the muscle that frames the lips. The botulinum toxin temporarily relaxes part of this muscle, causing the upper lip to turn slightly outward. This accentuates the upper lip line and makes the lips appear fuller and more defined. The procedure also helps reduce fine lines above the upper lip.

The procedure is performed without anesthesia and requires no recovery time. The effects become noticeable within 3–5 days after the treatment and last for 4–6 months.

Before the procedure

No special preparation is required for the procedure; it involves a quick injection into the area along the edge of the upper lip. Although the procedure is brief, the area is sensitive, so some discomfort is to be expected. After the injection, you may temporarily have difficulty drinking through a straw or whistling, which could temporarily limit activities such as dog walking. However, these symptoms usually subside quickly.
