This is a minimally invasive procedure that takes just a few minutes. Botulinum toxin is injected with a thin needle, known as an insulin pen, under the skin in the target area. The procedure is not painful; the injection feels like a pinch. A local anesthetic can also be used for your maximum comfort. We also recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications—such as Acetylsalicylic acid, Aspirin, etc.—at least on the day of the procedure.

How long do the effects of botulinum toxin last? – Three months the first time, then up to a year
