Acne treatment using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive procedure for treating the skin’s surface. The Ariane IPL device features two attachments with a crystal plate that precisely directs the pulsed light to the treatment areas. The light has a beneficial effect on the skin’s structure and stimulates the regeneration of connective tissue cells (known as fibroblasts). When combined with a chemical peel, we achieve visible results in a very short time.
Acne, or Acne vulgaris, is the most common chronic skin condition. Identifying the cause is the first step toward successful treatment. There are many reasons why acne develops, and it primarily affects areas of the face such as the forehead, nose, cheeks, mouth, and chin, as well as the ears, neck, and back. It can also appear in the hair, on the shoulders, or on the hands. Treating acne is not easy, but at our clinic, we have a device that delivers fast and long-lasting results.
We achieve excellent results with the Ariane IPL treatment as part of our acne therapy, which is why this treatment is suitable for virtually everyone, whether you suffer from adult acne on your face or teenage acne on your forehead.
IPL uses intense pulsed light to target specific areas of the skin and has the following effects, which can help treat acne:
The visible results of this treatment vary from person to person. In cases of mild acne, results may be visible as early as 48 hours after treatment. If the inflammation is more severe, a temporary worsening of symptoms may occur in the first 2–3 days after treatment, but this will subside within a week at the latest.
It is important to keep in mind that IPL therapy may not be suitable for all types of acne or all skin types. In some cases, a combination of different treatment methods may be necessary.
We perform the Ariane IPL treatment either with a chemical peel, in which we apply a mixture of fruit acids in various concentrations to the affected skin; this breaks down the surface layers of the skin, leading to the activation of collagen production. Or without a chemical peel, in which we apply a thin layer of clear gel to your face.
A trained nurse then places the device’s attachment, which features a crystal plate, against the skin’s surface. This transmits pulsed light precisely to the area being treated. The procedure takes 20 minutes if a chemical peel is applied, and 10–15 minutes without it.

The procedure is painless; at most, you may feel a slight warmth when the light pulses are applied. The treatment is therefore completely comfortable and safe. After the treatment, the treated area may become slightly red, but this will quickly subside.
There is no recovery period, and you do not need to use any special at-home products. During your initial consultation with our doctor, you will discuss proper skincare habits for acne-prone skin, and they will recommend suitable products to make the treatment even more effective. You can purchase some of our acne-prone skincare lines right here. However, this is not a requirement.
Acne is an inflammatory skin condition, so it is important to follow your doctor’s instructions, because even the best combination of treatments will not work if you do not take proper care of your skin at home.
No special preparation is required for the procedure. However, you must be in excellent physical condition; you should not have had a cold, the flu, or similar illness in the previous two weeks. The Ariane IPL treatment also cannot be performed on pregnant women or individuals with epilepsy or a pacemaker. You also cannot be treated with this device if you have recently tanned in a tanning bed or have just returned from vacation with a tan. In this case, you must wait one month before the treatment can be performed.
There is a wide range of causes for acne, and we cannot influence all of them. However, thanks to the Ariane IPL method, we can help you get rid of acne regardless of its cause. Whether you’re struggling with acne on your chin, nose, or back, we’ll take care of it painlessly.
Acne treatment is a long-term process and involves a combination of complementary procedures. Based on our experience, we recommend undergoing the Ariane IPL treatment 4–5 times, with a 2-week interval between each session.
The duration of the procedure depends primarily on the size of the treated area. Removing acne on the face is slightly less time-consuming than acne on the back. If a chemical peel is applied, the treatment may take 20 minutes; without it, 10–15 minutes.
