Threads with a pronounced lifting effect are a minimally invasive method for contouring the face, neck, and other areas of the body. As we age, the skin—not just on the face—gradually loses its firmness and elasticity. The use of lifting threads helps slow down the aging process.

At our Dermaestet clinic, we use threads made from two types of absorbable biomaterials: polylactic acid and polydioxanone. Our specialist will select the appropriate material based on your skin type and the type and degree of skin sagging. The thread material is completely absorbed within a few months after application.

An alternative to a traditional facelift

Threads made of polylactic acid have a rejuvenating effect. The barbs and knots on the threads help anchor the material in the treated area. The doctor inserts the threads under the skin, where they then tighten and firm the skin. The material is fully absorbed approximately 9 months after insertion.

The lifting effect of the threads is visible immediately after the procedure—the skin is pulled upward. This effect is very pronounced at first; in the first few days following the procedure, the threads settle into place, causing the skin to loosen slightly. The final result of firmer skin becomes apparent over the course of several months.

Rejuvenation lasting up to 3 years

This minimally invasive procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. We administer local anesthesia to ensure your maximum comfort. Through small incisions, we insert very thin, hypoallergenic threads into the loosened tissues, which can significantly lift the contours of the face and other parts of the body for up to 3 years.

After the procedure, it is necessary to rest. Swelling or bruising may occur at the sites where the threads were inserted, but these will subside. When treating the cheeks or double chin, you must wear a special compression mask for 48 hours after the procedure, and we do not recommend opening your mouth too wide. After eyebrow treatment, avoid wearing a helmet for several weeks to prevent diminishing the treatment’s effectiveness.

To ensure quick healing without complications, we recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity (exercise, etc.), facial massages, and visits to saunas or swimming pools for several weeks.

Compared to the Aptos method, the MINT lifting method has a more pronounced rejuvenating effect, although this effect lasts for a slightly shorter period of time.
